Question: FTP Login Account

Hi, I have a problem to login in FTP account of the galaxy after maintenance of Galaxy network. My HTTP account is working but when I am trying to connect with FTP it not worked.

Please help me in this regard.

If you are having trouble connecting to the Main server try enabling passive mode in your client. Also make sure to connect using FTP or FTPS. As before, SFTP connections will be rejected.

Bit of more help in case you or others need it - that tutorial has been updated to reflect the implementation of FTPS yesterday at Galaxy Main (http://usegalaxy.org) and Test (https://test.galaxyproject.org/).

Using FTP or setting your client to specifically use FTPS will both result in a secure file transfer. You may need to relaunch your client and then accept the server's security certificate before initiating a transfer (this is true with Filezilla, and likely other FTP clients). For details, please see the tutorial's newly linked-in video that walks through the changes.

Other Galaxy servers may or may not include this update now or in the future. Check with the administrators if not sure or just stick with the default FTP.
