Hello,
I have followed the galaxy installation via git or mercurial. However, I am unable to find galaxy directory. Please note, previously i followed the same step and was able to locate galaxy.
Can you suggest what i might be doing wrong or is there some type of issue with galaxy downloading through terminal itself?

Bitbucket (mercurial) has been deprecated. Use just Github now. Instructions are here: https://docs.galaxyproject.org/en/master/releases/16.07_announce.html#github

Hi Jen,
I have used GIT and copied galaxy and now I just have problems becoming an admin. After I create galaxy.ini, I substitute under the #admin_user = None to #admin_users = shambyross@yahoo.com
the last portion is my email.
Then I restart my computer and run local galaxy but unable to login.
Can you please suggest how I can become an admin?

Hi Ross,
You won't be able to just login - you'll need to register the account first, then login after that. Use the same email as in the galaxy.ini file.
Also - the line in the galaxy.ini file seems to still have the initial "#" hash present. That needs to be removed. Shut down and restart Galaxy after making that change.

I have done everything as you suggested it and I still cannot become an admin. I know I am modifying correct galaxy.ini file because after changing #brand = None to brand = TEST, word TEXT appears next to galaxy word after sh run.sh (online). Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I have finally figure out what is wrong. You have to register again at the local galaxy instance - even if you registered before. and then you can sign in and ADMIN TAB will appear,
Is this correct way to do it?
