I'm new to Galaxy, and picking up on someone else's work with a local instance of Galaxy. So far I've tried to edit the welcome page, but editing the files welcome.html and welcome.html.sample in the static folder don't do anything when I actually run Galaxy (it still runs and shows the old welcome page). Eventually I even tried downloading a new version of Galaxy entirely, navigating to that folder, and running the fresh download; it still showed the old welcome page. Somehow run.sh must be accessing the old welcome page file, despite the fact that I changed the file in the old galaxy folder and am now running Galaxy from a new folder, but I can't figure out how. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi
We also had this problem. It can be to do with the frame. We solved it by right-clicking in the central frame on the welcome page and choosing This Frame ... Show only this frame. Once on this page, you can refresh the page. Doing this finally revealed the updated welcome page.
I hope it works for you too.

Have you tried to clean your browser cache?
I can't believe I missed that... thank you. Clearing my browser cache completely fixed it, and now all my changes are showing up just fine.
Glad that it worked for you!
