Hello,

I'm a post-doctoral researcher at INRIA (in Grenoble, France). My research is about scientific data management for research on materials (collaborating with researchers from the CEA), and I'm considering leveraging Galaxy to set up an infrastructure (a prototype) to upload images from equipment (such as large microscopes) and to run analysis workflows on them.

I searched a little and found that a group has done something similar, applying Galaxy to NLP (the Lappsgrid). Are you aware of other initiatives to use Galaxy for research on materials?

I'll need to make changes in the source code to adapt it to my context, should I do that in a fork of the github repository, or should I create a new repository?

Once I have a prototype, my research will focus on data movement, in-situ analysis and workflow execution. Are you aware of other people working on those aspects with Galaxy?

Best regards, Francieli

Hi Francieli,

we do have a Galaxy flavor for Constructive Solid Geometry and we do have a bunch of tools for image analysis. Let me know if this fits to your research and don't hesitate to contact me. I can bring you in contact with other people interested in image analysis and material research.

Cheers and merry Christmas, Bjoern

H, Bjoern, thanks for your reply! I'll take a look into the Constructive Solid Geometry Galaxy flavor, and I'll contact you if I have any questions or comments. Great holidays, Francieli
